The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for locations in our service area from this evening to Tuesday morning. Damaging southeast winds are forecasted, with gusts up to 50 mph in some locations, including Maple Valley, Enumclaw, Black Diamond and North Bend. Easterly winds may also impact Western Whatcom and Skagit counties.

We have been watching the forecast since late last week and are prepared for stormy weather. Our Emergency Coordination Center and local storm bases are open to mobilize resources, and crews will deploy with assignments as it’s safe to do so. Additional line and tree crews from outside the area have been brought in to assist with restoration and we have been replenishing material supplies to ensure readiness.

The strength and direction of the forecasted winds has the potential to cause downed trees and branches, bringing power lines down with them.

alert

Safety first. Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.
