We are aware of an issue with our outage map. It is not reflecting all of the customers whose power has been restored, and is not showing a set of customers who are still without power. Our internal systems for identifying outages and prioritizing restorations are still functioning. The map issue appears to stem from a technology change-over for the mapping system that was implemented this fall.

We know it is frustrating for our customers and we are working hard to reconcile the data showing on the map. We ask that you continue to report outages if needed.

Our crews will continue to work around the clock until the last customer is restored.

November Wind Storm

Updated ETRs

To our customers without power:

We know it has been a difficult three days. And we have some hard news to share for some of our customers. Due to the substantial amount of damage we are encountering from the hurricane force winds of the storm, which has made our work slower than expected, we have to push back estimated restoration times for customers.

We will have three restoration times:

  • Saturday at 12pm
  • Sunday at 6pm
  • Monday at 10am

We are in the process this evening of updating our outage map with the estimated restoration times for your outage. We are working as hard as we can to get power restored to you sooner than the times listed above. As our field crews gain more detailed information about your outage, we will update the outage map with a more specific time.

Puget Sound Energy opens new Sumner electric vehicle charging station
PSE continues to expand its “Up & Go Electric” program.

Sumner, Washington (3/5/2024) Puget Sound Energy will celebrate its first public electric vehicle charging station in Pierce County with the opening of its newest Up & Go Electric location at the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse in Sumner. The expansion into Pierce County is made possible in part through a partnership with the Old Cannery and City of Sumner.

Demand for public charging stations in the Puget Sound region continues to grow, as more drivers make the transition to EVs. The City of Sumner and The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse share a desire, along with PSE, to help encourage that transition.

The Old Cannery, a successful Sumner staple for more than 40 years, also shares a vision of a sustainable future.

“This partnership between PSE, The City of Sumner & The Old Cannery not only fosters sustainable mobility but also enhances the accessibility of Historical Downtown Sumner,” said David Radcliffe, CEO of the Old Cannery. “With the convenience of charging, visitors can explore our charming streets, patronize local restaurants, and support our vibrant community. Together, we're powering progress and enriching experiences for all.”

This new charging station is part of PSE’s ongoing effort toward providing much-needed charging and utility infrastructure, while also expanding transportation electrification benefits throughout the region.

The new station will be maintained by PSE and feature two DC fast-charging ports and two Level 2 charging ports that can charge almost any type of electric car, truck, or SUV. The station will be open 24/7 to all drivers, regardless of whether they are PSE customers.

This is the sixth of at least eight public charging stations PSE plans to open across its service area; the first opened in Lacey in September 2020. PSE is also offering incentives covering up to 100% of the installation costs for businesses and organizations that want to bring a public charging station to their communities through its new Up & Go Electric for Public program.

“We know EVs are a big part of the clean energy transformation, and as a trusted utility, we’re uniquely positioned to support and enable that transformation," said Aaron August, PSE senior vice president and chief customer and transformation officer. “We appreciate our partnership with the Cannery, and its commitment to sustainability as it helps us bring more EV charging options to Pierce County.”

A greener way to charge
Electricity purchased at the Sumner public charging station is matched with 100% renewable energy through our Green Power program, setting our Up & Go Electric stations apart as a greener way to charge.

Easy to use
All drivers – not just PSE customers – can use the Up & Go Electric app to take advantage of simple mobile payment options, monitor their charging session remotely, and more.

PSE, through our Up & Go Electric program, wants to make it as easy as possible for customers to save money and help the environment by accelerating widespread transportation electrification. To learn more about electric vehicles and Up & Go Electric, visit pse.com/electricvehicles.
