November Wind Storm

Damaging winds moved through the Puget Sound region on November 4th with gusts near 60 mph in some areas. The windy weather has caused many outages around our service area. There are approximately 43,000 customers without power (as of 12:00 am). We’ve opened our Emergency Coordination Center and local storm bases to coordinate restoration efforts. Over 147,000 customers have been restored since the windy weather began.

While crews continue to make great progress in restoring power, ongoing windy weather continues to cause outages. Currently 43,000 customers are without power as additional damage caused all of Whidbey Island to lose power around 11:30 PM.

This strong low-pressure system moved through areas north and south of King County. Peak winds were as high as 62 mph for Island County. Winds along the I-90 corridor in Kittitas County will continue through 5:00 am with gusts of 40s-50s mph.

The most impacted areas were Island, Whatcom, and Skagit counties in the north and Thurston county in the south.
