PSE Cares About the Communities in Pierce County

Over the past five years, PSE has donated more than $500,000 to Pierce County's charitable organizations — without any cost to rate payers — through our corporate giving program and the Puget Sound Energy Foundation. Members of TeamPSE, our employee volunteer program, donate many hours of personal time and lots of energy to support the Pierce County community. We've also given more than $11.9 million in energy efficiency grants and rebates to our Pierce County customers.

Point Defiance Zoological Society

This organization supports the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium by providing financial and other resources for the Zoo's recreation, education and conservation programs. The Puget Sound Energy Foundation contributed over $30,000 in grants to the zoological society for educational and outreach programs.

Partners for Parks

We support Partners for Parks, a partnership of service groups, community members, businesses and the military dedicated to improving the area's parks. Every year we sponsor environmental projects in the Lakewood area.

Clover Park Technical College Foundation

We established and annually sponsor the Distinguished Faculty Award, which recognizes exceptional individuals who have accomplished outstanding achievements in academia and for their students.

Pierce County food banks

We regularly make financial contributions to Emergency Food Network and the Tillicum-American Community Center Food Bank. Both of these local organizations feed low-income households in Pierce County. Additionally, through TeamPSE, our employees collect nonperishable food items for the food banks.

Other Pierce County organizations we support

Museum of Glass, Pierce County Economic Development Board, Tacoma Art Museum, Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, Tacoma Ethnic Days Festival and Valley Arts United, just to name a few.

Energy efficiency grants and rebates

Over the past five years we've contributed almost $9 million in energy efficiency grants to Pierce County commercial businesses and more than $2.9 million in rebates to residential customers.
