Bow Lake Natural Gas system and meter transfer project
Spring 2014 Project Complete
- On March 27, 2014, PSE became the natural gas utility for the Bow Lake 55+ Residential Community in SeaTac.
- In mid-April PSE completed installation of new natural gas meters.
To ensure continued dependable service and compliance with regulatory requirements, the Bow Lake Residential Community asked PSE to become the community's natural gas utility. The agreement authorized PSE to provide the entire Bow Lake Residential Community with natural gas service. PSE now serves the community with both electric and natural gas services.
Residents wishing to receive natural gas service from PSE signed and accepted the Puget Sound Energy Natural Gas Transfer Service Agreement.
PSE hosted two open houses in March. Bow Lake residents were encouraged to drop by during one of the meetings where they could learn about changes to the natural gas service in Bow Lake as well as schedule meter change-out appointments and meet the project team.
PSE is proud to be part of the Bow Lake Residential Community.
At PSE, we know our customers, employees and the communities we serve expect to live and work around a safe and reliable natural gas system. Safety is our top priority when it comes to designing, constructing, operating and maintaining the natural gas system serving more than 750,000 PSE customers. When operating our system, we meet or exceed strict federal and state safety requirements related to pipeline safety. Click here for more information on natural gas safety.
How does natural gas get to my home or business?
Natural gas is a fossil fuel composed almost entirely of methane. Interstate pipelines transport natural gas to regional natural gas systems, where it is metered and delivered through a network of local mains, service lines and, ultimately, to customer homes and businesses.
