PSE Cares About the Communities in Lewis County
Over the past five years, PSE has donated more than $40,000 to Lewis County's charitable organizations — without any cost to rate payers — through our corporate giving program and the Puget Sound Energy Foundation. Members of TeamPSE, our employee volunteer program, donate many hours of personal time and lots of energy to support the Lewis County community. We've also distributed over $480,000 in energy efficiency grants and rebates to our Lewis County customers.
Centralia College Foundation
This foundation provides scholarships and financial aid to students and recognizes exceptional employees that further Centralia College's mission of improving lives through lifelong learning. Every year we sponsor the Faculty Excellence Award at the college to honor outstanding faculty who are unswerving in their dedication to their students and their profession.
Washington Business Week /
Foundation for Private Enterprise Education
Available to all high school students in Washington state, Washington Business Week educates and inspires teens to thrive in the free enterprise system through summer-camp and in-school community programs. We sponsor these programs annually through the foundation; Casey Cochrane, our Lewis County Community Relations Manager, judges the business/entrepreneur projects.
Lewis County Food Bank
We make annual financial contributions to the Lewis County Food Bank. Additionally, through TeamPSE, our employees help by volunteering to collect nonperishable food items and perform other duties for the food banks.
Low-income bill-payment assistance
Depending on household size and income, our customers can receive up to $750 from our Home Energy Lifeline Program (HELP) to apply to their energy costs. Between 2008 and 2009 we provided $36,000 in bill-payment assistance to Lewis County customers in need.
Other Lewis County organizations we support
Human Response Network, Lewis County Economic Development Council and Pope's Kids Place, just to name a few.
Energy efficiency grants and rebates
Over the past five years, we've given more than $460,000 in commercial businesses energy efficiency grants and about $25,500 in residential rebates in Lewis County.
