Three Local Contractors Earn Energy Efficiency Action Awards for Outstanding Work with Puget Sound Energy Customers

Together they performed more than 3,600 energy-efficient residential retrofits in 2010

BELLEVUE, Wash. (April 08, 2011) - Three local contractors are being honored once again by Puget Sound Energy for their hard work and dedication in helping energy customers take advantage of PSE incentives to make their homes more energy-efficient.

PSE announced today that its 2010 Energy Efficiency Action awards went to the three local contractors all based in Seattle that installed the most residential energy-efficiency products eligible for PSE rebates in 2010. Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning and Washington Energy Services each won the award for the fourth straight year, Fast Water Heater Company won for the second year in a row.

“Winning Energy Efficiency Action awards year after year is a testament to the great service these local contractors provide for our energy customers,” said Cal Shirley, vice president of Energy Efficiency Services for PSE. “We are honored to recognize them for their commitment to helping our customers use our incentives to make immediate and long-lasting energy-efficient home improvements.”

Each winner earned the distinction for their outstanding performance in helping residential customers save electricity and natural gas. Together, the three contractors installed enough high-efficiency furnaces, water heaters and heat pumps to account for 19 percent of the total rebates PSE provided its residential customers in 2010. In all, the three award-winning contractors performed more than 3,600 energy-efficient residential retrofits in 2010.

Brennan Heating and Fast Water Heater are part of PSE’s Contractor Referral Service, a network of local, independent contractors pre-screened by the utility to perform residential customer work that may qualify for PSE rebates.

PSE residential customers can take advantage of PSE rebates on energy-efficient appliances, equipment and upgrades, including discounts on compact fluorescent lighting, free duct sealing, up to $3,950 to convert electric equipment to natural gas, up to $800 for insulation installation, $800 for ductless heat pumps, $100 for natural gas furnaces, and rebates for efficient water heaters, boilers and heat pumps, clothes washers and many other incentives.
